In the first 11 months of 2021, SUVs dominated the European car market with a share of over 40% of total sales.
Although the semiconductor crisis has affected many factories in Europe, SUVs have gained ground because many electric models have been launched, which has helped some customers benefit from subsidies and reduced taxes in several states on the Old Continent.
The best-selling SUV in Europe in 2021 was Peugeot 2008. The French manufacturer’s model was sold in 173,890 units, an increase of 28% over the same period last year.
