VIDEO. In Josselin, work on the new hospital is progressing and on schedule

Reconstruction of the Hospital Center Josselin (Morbihan), started in June 2020, is continuing according to the provisional schedule. “The past year was marked by a first phase of demolition, from February to April, before starting the installation of the site and the start of the shell in summer”, announces Erwan Privat, Deputy Director of the hospital, member of the Brocéliande Atlantique Hospital Group (GHBA).

Despite the health situation, the work started on time and is practically on schedule. The shell of the garden level, ground floor and first floor has already been completed. These spaces will house, among other things, the technical rooms, the reception and administration part of the site and the 60 beds of the long-term care unit. The rest should be completed by the end of April , explains the director. Then the partitioning and finishing work can begin.

A sample room to prepare the layout

The hospital works with elected officials and the town hall when it arrives in the future building, in support of the Center hospitalier Bretagne Atlantique (CHBA), which includes the Chubert hospital in Vannes and the Pratel hospital in Auray. For a year, we have been working with professionals to develop the organization of space, internal mobility and operations in general. , underlines Erwan Privat.

Over the past few months, a test chamber has been built and fully furnished in order to test the strength and relevance of the technical equipment, to verify the functionality of the space and to validate the choice of colors and coverings. This step mobilized nearly 110 professionals, but also representatives of residents and families. Thanks to this feedback, we are currently studying some modifications that we will install in the control room before final validation. , details Déborah Turquetil, engineer at the CHBA.

“Building together” the new hospital

In parallel with the construction, the establishment is continuing its “Building together” project. Collectives of professionals are formed, bringing together the various departments and professions on subjects such as the resident’s highlights, the personalized support project or even managerial practices. “All of the work undertaken will enable teams to experiment with new operating methods”, comments the director.

After the move to the future premises, the old buildings will be demolished, except the management building and the Blue Rock. “It will last about 9 months”, concludes Erwan Privat.
