Party chairpersons Georges-Louis Bouchez (MR), Joachim Coens (CD&V) and Egbert Lachaert (Open Vld) sat together for more than three hours on Tuesday afternoon with CDH chairman Maxime Prévot. The latter appears to be cautiously satisfied afterwards: the CDH has “finally” been able to present its priorities for a possible new federal government in detail, according to a spokesperson.

Prévot had a coffee at Bouchez, Coens and Lachaert on Tuesday afternoon for three and a half hours. The three party presidents in the current minority government have been working for some time on an extension of that team with N-VA, sp.a and cdH – the so-called “Arizonacoalitie”, after the flag of that American state – but they bluntly caught the latter last Tuesday. : Prévot and sp.a.-chairman Conner Rousseau first wanted more clarification before sitting around the table with the trio’s note.

Prévot was able to voice his grievances on Tuesday afternoon. The CDH chairman was able to clarify his priorities for a possible formation, it was said after a consultation with a spokesperson. The French-speaking humanists also refrain from commenting, although the spokesperson said that Tuesday’s meeting is not necessarily a prognosis for the future.

Yesterday / Monday N-VA chairman Bart De Wever already visited, but it is not clear if and when Rousseau will visit. MR chairman Bouchez said on Tuesday morning that he hopes to be able to get the six parties involved together before the end of the week.
