Toulouse. A Spaniard is robbed of 29 gold coins worth €15,000

A Spaniard was robbed of 29 gold coins worth €15,000 before he could recover them, reports The Midi Dispatch. Saturday April 9, 2022, he had an appointment with a buyer in a street in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne). The two men had exchanged beforehand on the Wallapop application.

During the transaction, the buyer allegedly handed him envelopes filled with €100 notes. While he was making sure of the amount, the collector would have understood that he was being ripped off. The tickets were fake.

The suspect ran away

The alleged thief would have taken the opportunity to take the gold coins from him and would have taken to his heels. The Spaniard, determined not to let him escape, set off in pursuit while asking passers-by for help. Eventually, the suspect was intercepted by pedestrians and security guards. The police then arrested him.

The seller has recovered his parts. According to our colleagues, he did not wish to file a complaint.
