They publish the fixture of the Professional League: there was no draw and the location of the classics was reversed

This Thursday the fixture of the Professional Football League championship will be known, which will begin to be played on Friday, June 3, in a 27-date round robin format. The highlight is that it was not carried out by lottery and that the localities of the classics were reversed played in the League Cup won by Boca.

During the last days, work was done on the preparation of the fixture with meetings of the small table of the Professional League. It was done “by hand” and not by lottery. One of the issues to define is the venues: what is certain is that they will change for the classics, after two consecutive editions (2021 Professional League and 2022 LPF Cup) being played in the same stadium.

According to the preliminary sketch that will be approved today through an informative zoom between the leaders, the superclásico between Boca and River would be played on September 11 for the date 18.

Unlike the last tournament, there will be no classic date. The matches with strong rivalries will be distributed throughout the 27 dates.

When does the Professional League start and when does it end?

The Professional League will begin the weekend of Sunday, June 5, with only a weekend break between one tournament and another. As the World Cup will start on November 21 and end on December 18, it was decided that the 2022 Argentine League will end a month earlier, more precisely the last date is scheduled for the weekend of October 23.

There will be six dates that will be played during the week since the weekends between June 5 and October 23 do not cover the total of the 27 days.

Professional League: those classified for the cups and the two relegations are defined

With the Professional League tournament that will be played starting on Friday, June 3, the qualifiers for the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana and the two teams that will descend in category will be defined.

The champions of the two tournaments of the year (Boca was the first) and the winner of the Copa Argentina will go to the Libertadores. The other three qualifiers will come from the accumulated table of points between the League Cup and the Professional League. The same system will be used for the Copa Sudamericana.

The teams that finish last and penultimate in the average table will go to relegation.
