The Touareg entered the European market and later the US as an avalanche in 2002, and Volkswagen has already sold more than a million of these cars. It is interesting that two decades ago, the German carmaker offered, for example, a five-liter diesel ten-cylinder with 750 Nm of torque or an engine with a W12 configuration.

We can’t expect anything like that in 2022, but nevertheless the twentieth birthday must be celebrated properly, as the German carmaker Volkswagen knows well. Its largest European SUV, the Touareg, has been on the road for two decades, and developers and designers have prepared an interesting surprise for the occasion, the annual Edition 20.

The special version of the Touareg comes with a Meloe blue lacquer exterior, Bogota 20-inch wheels, tinted glass and Edition 20 markings on the B-pillars. The Volkswagen wheel arches and rear diffuser were painted black. Inside, we find black Savona leather with diamond stitching or a gear selector referring to the anniversary.

Volkswagen will offer four engines for this model. Under the hood, customers will be able to choose between two six-cylinder diesel engines, one petrol V6 and a plug-in hybrid with 375 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque.

Orders are already open and the price in Germany will start at 1.9 million crowns.
