Aspirin is questioned in some cases. Indeed, it is often prescribed in prevention, gold, and this is the novelty, it is perhaps risky. “If we look at what is happening in France, there are more than 4 million 600 thousand people who take a small dose of aspirin every day for cardiovascular prevention, in particular to avoid a myocardial infarction, because aspirin thins the blood”analyzes the doctor and journalist Damien Mascret.
The conclusion of the experts is that aspirin must be stopped in primary prevention for two reasons, as Damien Mascret explains: “Firstly because the latest studies have certainly confirmed that low-dose aspirin in primary prevention could only prevent a modest part of cardiovascular accidents but without reducing mortality. And above all because, in primary prevention, the risks are much higher than the profits.”
