The construction of the link road from the business park from Formariz, at the Paredes de Coura, to the motorway and the A3, now handed over to the contractor, will be completed at the beginning of December, 2021, at a cost of nine million euros.

The mayor who is a socialist, that he was speaking to journalists at the end of the ceremony, the pledge of contracts, co-chaired by the minister of Infrastructures, Pedro Nuno Santos has admitted that the “dream” was soon to deliver it.

In the case of the creation of an access road that claimed more than five decades for the covenant of mayors and business leaders, about 8.8 km in length, to connect the business park from Formariz, at the Paredes de Coura, at A3 (node, Sapardos – Vila Nova de Cerveira), in the district of Viana do Castelo.
Vitor Paulo Pereira, said that even without that connection, “Paredes de Coura has won a lot,” referring to the companies that have settled in the county, but has also lost many “investments” that have gone to neighbouring villages, pointing to the case of Viana do Castelo.

The minister of Infrastructure, has stressed it is a “momentous day for Paredes de Coura, to the Alto Minho region, but also for the country.”

The responsible person pointed out that the new road will allow for the “flow fast, on the National Road (EN), 303, today, with a daily traffic of 2.761 vehicles, 10% heavy-duty”.
“The project will allow for the flow fast-from the goods manufactured in the business park and the arrival of the raw materials, and for the people,” he stressed.
The project aims at the improvement of the conditions of access, use and security of that section, and it involves the implementation of four new roundabouts to improve the conditions for mobility in connecting to the network of roads, the location, the construction of the eight works of art, and a bridge over the river das Corredouras”.
The project includes the construction of two docks on the shore of the river of Sapardos, and on the shore of the river of the Borzendes of the two passages of the farm, two underpasses and an overpass for pedestrians”.
The construction of the link is part of the Valuation of the Business initiated by the Government, and in February 2017 at the earliest.
