The coordinator of theInternational Federation of Clubs of Athletic Club de Bilbaohas issued a statement in which it has announced that Aspe will continue to organize the48 edition of the International Congress of Peñasof the Basque club, but that willyear 2021with specific dates still to be determined.

From the Athletic Club of Bilbao they have considered that with the pandemic and all the problems that it is causing in society, it would be difficult to hold the International Congress of Peñas, which hoped to bring togethernearly 500 fans from all over the world. Thus, at the meeting of the coordinator of the Federation they have decided to transfer it to 2021.
A decision that also implies the change of venue for that year, in which it was scheduled to take place inSegoviain charge of the rocks“Barbolla”, “La Segoviana” and “Las Navas”. The 49th edition moves toyear 2022and they will continue to be organized by the Segovian rocks.
The decision to keep Aspe as its headquarters and move the organization to 2021 has been received with satisfaction by both the “El Chopo” supporters club, who were very excited to celebrate this meeting of all supporters of Athletic Club, and by the City Council, that through thedepartments of Sports and Tourism, they had also put a lot of effort because they were going to put Aspe on the map of a club as emblematic as the Basque and, in addition, it was going to havean important repercussion, both tourist and sports. Now, with more than a year ahead, there is enough time to overcome the Covid-19 crisis, to try to recover the economy and to celebrate with all the galas this important event.
