The Grasshoppers are active again on the transfer market and get four new players.
The two strikers Mychell Chagas (30, ex-Servette) and Zé Turbo (23, from FC Schaffhausen) are supposed to boost the offensive. Both professionals already know Switzerland very well, Chagas was even trained in Switzerland. He was most recently at Servette, with his contract expiring at the end of last year. For the time being, he signs with the Hoppers until the end of the season.
“With Mychell, we have someone who has a lot of experience and knows where the gate is. Despite the annoying loss to Kriens, we are not moving away from our season goal. I am convinced that Mychell will help us with this, ”says GC Managing Director Fredy Bickel.
Zé Turbo has been playing for FC Schaffhausen since last summer and had two goals and two assists in the preliminary round. The dual citizen from Guinea-Bissau and Portugal played in the youth departments of the top European clubs Sporting Lisbon and Inter Milan before finding his way to Switzerland through various stations in Italy, Portugal, Argentina and Croatia. The 23-year-old striker is now moving to GC, where he has signed a contract until 2023.
“Zé Turbo fits exactly into the striker profile that we were looking for. He is an athletic and fast player who likes to go deep and look for the end. It has potential and is a promise for the future. Hopefully, Zé Turbo will be a lot of fun, ”comments Bickel.
The loan from Boubacar Hanne was announced last week. The attacker joins the Zurich team from Premier Ligist Wolverhampton, where he played in the U23.
Center-back Ed Francis also finds his way to the Hoppers. He also joins the Challenge League club on loan.
