Mapfre’s Director of General Risks, Felipe Ríos, remarks that this type of insurance continues to be one of the ones with the greatest opportunity for growth. In 2019 it only reached 3.2% penetration of a total of 10 million homes nationwide and this is because some Peruvians consider that hiring home insurance is a luxury.

The theft coverage offered by home insurance protects the goods found inside the insured property, helping to pay for the replacement of the stolen goods depending on the insured sum contracted.
Home insurance can cost from S / 1.20 a day with main coverage for theft, fire, earthquakes and some assistance for the home after the pandemic.
These new assistances include the telemedicine service for the family, which consists of care in general medicine and pediatrics, and also the home disinfection service against bacteria and viruses.
However, despite having basic plans, the consumer is not convinced to acquire it or keep it for a long period, in case they have contracted it.
That is why insurance companies have sought to increase the value offer, adding complementary services and generating more interaction with the insured during the term of the insurance and, in this way, achieving greater permanence.
