Kalidou Koulibaly makes no secret of the fact that he feels at home at SSC Napoli. “If one day I have to leave, I will, but at the moment I’m very calm and I feel good in Naples. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season,” the defender said in an interview with French football magazine Onze Mondial .
Koulibaly is once again the focus of transfer due to his contract expiring in 2023. FC Barcelona is said to want to hire the 30-year-old defender for the coming season. However, no further steps have been taken in this regard.
The Senegalese international hadn’t counted on playing for Napoli for eight years anyway. He loves the city, he loves the fans, he loves the club, Koulibaly explains why he’s been playing at Napoli for so long, despite receiving offers from other clubs at every transfer stage.

Kalidou Koulibaly will never give the stinky boot
Above all, he likes the involvement of the fans in the club. “If they don’t want a player to leave the club, he stays.” President Aurelio De Laurentiis has often demanded such a high price for Koulibaly that no negotiations with interested parties have arisen.
Koulibaly explains: “If one day I have to go, I will go clean and not argue with the club. The Napoli fans don’t deserve me arguing or misbehaving with the President. They trust me and I try to give something back to them on the field.”
