The creators of the series “Zuleikha opens her eyes” must apologize for using the names of Russian representatives of the Muslim clergy as the names of political prisoners in the film. This was stated by TASS on Saturday, the chairman of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia (DSMR) Mufti Albir Krganov.
Among the names of the repressed were listed, in particular, the names of the chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims (CDUM) of Russia, the Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Tajuddin, chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (DUM) of the Russian Federation and the Council of Muftis of Russia (SMR) mufti Ravil Gainutdin, a 19th century Tatar theologian Shigabutdina Marjani and others.
On April 17, information appeared on the DSMR website that Krganov sent Oleg Dobrodeyev, Director General of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, and Igor Barinov, the head of the Federal Agency for Nationalities (FADN), regarding the broadcast of the second series of Zuleikha’s television show on Russia 1 channel ” It is noted that the reason was the names and surnames of the muftis of modern Russia, used as the names of political prisoners, as well as a “frank intimate meeting in the mosque.”
“The names and surnames of the muftis are the names of religious figures very famous in the Muslim world, both historical and living. Our community took this as an insult, because this is a list of political prisoners, they are allegedly sent to Siberia. I think that in the end, those people who made this mistake should apologize to the Muslim community and personally to respected muftis for what happened, “Krganov told TASS.
He added that the DSMR asked for clarification of the FADN situation, since the agency, as Krganov emphasizes, is directly involved in issues of inter-religious and interethnic relations; as well as the TV channel “Russia-1”, which is “state-owned.” “There hasn’t been an answer yet, some consultations are ongoing today.
