Sparkasse Mainfranken plans to close a total of 29 branches by the end of the year. The bank names the following locations: Albertshofen, Kleinlangheim, Markt Einersheim, Marktsteft, Rödelsee, Aura, Hafenlohr, Hasloch, Gräfendorf (SB), Himmelstadt, Karlburg, Lindig-Siedlung, Oberndorf / Bischbrunn, Retzstadt, Rieneck, Thüngen, Ursprungingen, Wiesenfeld, Wiesthal, Frickenhausen, Gaukönigshofen, Theilheim (SB), Thüngersheim (SB), Waldbrunn (SB), Leinach, Winterhausen, Heidingsfeld-West (SB), Keesburg and Sanderau-Süd.
Nine branches without employees in the future
In addition, nine branches previously staffed are to be converted into unmanned self-service branches. These nine branches are located in: Obernbreit, Prichsenstadt, Birkenfeld, Langenprozelten, Marktheidenfeld-Baumhofstrasse, Obersinn, Retzbach, Reichenberg and Sommerhausen.
Customers are increasingly using the Internet
Sparkasse Mainfranken justifies the restructuring with a “strategic decision”. Sparkasse customers would also increasingly ask for new digital services. The customer frequency in the branches has been decreasing noticeably for years. In addition, the monetary policy of the European Central Bank ECB has increased the cost pressure.
Sparkasse Mainfranken should remain economically
The aim of the “adjustment in the branch network” is to keep Sparkasse Mainfranken Würzburg economically efficient in the long term in order to “continue to reliably fulfill our mandate as a lender and sponsor of the region”, said the bank.
