Authorities in the pro-Russian separatist region of South Ossetia in Georgia will hold a referendum on its integration into Russia on July 17, AFP reported.
The head of the region Anatoliy Babilov signed a decree for holding a referendum in South Ossetia, Babilov’s office said in a statement, BTA reported.
It also talks about the historical aspirations of the people of this Georgian region to join Russia, with which it borders.
