Marc Marquez had an accident in MotoGP Portugal 2022 similar to what has been experienced in the network MotoGP Mandalika.
Marquez, who became the fastest racer in the first free practice (FP1) of the Portuguese MotoGP, tried to race his motorbike to catch up with the time records of several racers who had already raced in FP3 such as Fabio Quartararo, Jack Miller, and Miguel Oliveira.
But in the midst of trying to repeat the record as the fastest racer, Marquez had an accident when he bulldozed the eighth corner.
After directing the motorbike he was driving to turn right, Marquez could not control the speed of the iron horse.
Marquez bounced off the motorbike which then changed direction. When he fell, Marquez’s hands and feet supported the body.
The 29-year-old racer walked into the gravel, while the RC213V motorbike was sitting on the side of the track.
Unlike after falling in the Mandalika Circuit warm-up session which resulted in missing the race, Marquez did not appear to have any significant problems and was able to return to the Repsol Honda garage.
Marquez then returned to the FP3 session. Marquez ended the third free practice session in eighth place, 0.833 seconds adrift of Miguel Oliveira who became the fastest rider.
Even though he fell and failed to become the fastest racer in FP3, Marquez has certainly qualified for the Q2 qualifying round. So did his team mate, Pol Espargaro.
