SEGA presents small version of Game Gear handheld | NOW

Japanese game maker SEGA has presented the Game Gear Micro. It is a small version of the handheld game console that appeared on the market in the early 1990s.

The small version of the device appears in four different colors. Games are pre-installed on the devices; the offer differs per color.

The Game Gear Micro has a very small 1.15 inch screen with a resolution of 240 by 180 pixels. A click-on lens is included in the box with which the screen can be enlarged.

The game console works via a USB connection or two AAA batteries. Furthermore, it has a mono speaker and a headphone jack.

One device costs 40 euros each. A bundle with all colors costs 224 euros. The Game Gear Micro is currently only available in Japan.

  • Black: Sonic the Hedgehog, Puyo Puyo 2, Out Run, Royal Stone
  • Blue: Sonic Chaos, Gunstar Heroes, Sylvan Tale, Baku Baku Animal
  • Yellow: Shining Force Gaiden: Ensei – Jashin no Kuni he, Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya, Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict, Nazopuyo Aruru no Ru
  • Red: Revelations: The Demon Slayer, Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible Special, The GG Shinobi, Columns
