After the government canceled this Saturday the implementation of the pilot plan for the reopening of restaurants in Cali from July 1, the Secretary of Economic Development, Argemiro Cortés, said that he will continue to insist that the reactivation of the gastronomic sector be allowed from the city.
“We were very excited to make this pilot plan, but we understand that at this moment the priority is the contagion of the covid, which is growing exponentially in the country, and there is a concern from the Government that all these activities are not a danger to health, “he said.
However, he confirmed that the signing of the pact of biosecurity protocols by the Municipal Administration with the restaurants in the Parque del Perro sector continues.
“We are going to sign them, because they have been approved, and we will wait for the government’s provisions for the opening,” he said.

Cortés says that the Government will evaluate the progress of the disease in Cali, where covid-19 cases exceed 6600 and in the last 24 hours 13 people died from the disease, between now and July 1, to consider the reactivation of restaurants.
The official added that in addition to the pilot that was going to be carried out in the Dog Park, they plan to carry out similar tests in other sectors of Cali such as El Peñón, San Antonio and the Boulevard.
Meanwhile, Cortés referred to what would be the demands of the Ministry of Health to allow the implementation of these plans.
“They are asking for protocols and that they approve them. In the case of Cali, they will be very strict due to the high increase in cases,” he concluded.
