JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – President Joko Widodo reveal the reasons for the appointment of the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto to lead the project food barns nationally in Central Kalimantan.
According to Jokowi, food has become an important part of national defense. He said, defense was not merely fulfilling the minimum reserve of the country’s main defense system (defense equipment).
“The name defense is not only defense equipment affairs, but also defense in the food sector is one part of it,” Jokowi told reporters at the Merdeka Palace on Monday (07/13/2020), quoted from Kontan.
However, Jokowi stressed that Prabowo would still be assisted by the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo in carrying out his duties.
Later, Prabowo will focus on taking care of food reserves to meet national needs so that they do not cause a food crisis.
“This has been conveyed by the Minister of Defense by calculating the cost of what, how much budget, in building a food estate in Kapuas and Pulang Pisau,” said Jokowi.
