Railway transport from Prague to Moravia collapsed due to a train crash

People who travel from the capital to Moravia on Friday spent two to three hours in the expressways of all carriers without getting anywhere. However, local passenger trains, which are part of Prague’s suburban transport, are also stuck in the queue.

Due to a breakdown near Poděbrady, express trains to Moravia accumulated in the evening at the stations in Čelákovice, Lysá nad Labem and Nymburk. “We are standing in Nymburk, we are already three hours late, next to us there is an express train to Vienna, behind it another, another train is lit against us,” one of the passengers described to Novinka.

Despite the complications, other trains were sent to the poorly passable track. “It’s an extraordinary situation, express trains are sent to Lysá nad Labem, because there is simply no other way. In addition, a malfunction occurred there, ”Radka Pistoriusová, a spokeswoman for SŽDC, told the News.

The express train from Prague to Ostrava in Pardubice is waiting for a new train platoon. The current delay is three and a half hours.

She advised passengers who were stuck on trains and, for example, missed connections, to contact the carrier.

The corridor over Běchovice, where two trains collided in the afternoon, was put into operation during the evening and ran on two tracks, but the traffic will be stopped again, because crashed trains will be removed.
