Untergruppenbach: search for a fugitive car driver
On Friday, around 10:30 p.m., a VW driver drove on the A 81 in the direction of Würzburg. When overtaking near Untergruppenbach, he struck a truck with a trailer, skidded and then crashed his vehicle into the trailer. As a result, the VW Golf was significantly damaged. The 39-year-old then walked away from the scene of the accident. Since it could not be ruled out that the man could have seriously injured himself, several police patrols were looking for him. A helicopter and rescue dogs were also used in the search. Finally, the man could be found near the highway. He was fine. The 39-year-old does not have the required driver’s license. He was also under the influence of narcotics. The total property damage amounts to approx. 15,000 euros. The truck driver was not injured. The Weinsberg traffic service began investigating the accident.
