It is necessary to reduce the number of trips outside the home to a minimum ”, said Nuno Carocha.
At the 25 de Abril Bridge, in the north-south direction, the PSP operation is also “to make motorists aware of the scenario that Portugal is currently experiencing”, explains an official PSP source to the Observer.

However, the exit from Lisbon via the 25 de Abril Bridge is not closed, but it is necessary for people to present a “justification that fits the exceptions provided for in the law”, explains the same source, while also stating that PSP agents do not fail to raise awareness people even in those cases. “If they tell us that they are going to help family members, to buy food or to go home, in those cases, yes, they go on their way but we are sensitive and we urge them to take the least possible time, to contact as few people as possible and to return quickly to their homes ”.
In Cascais, PSP is blocking access to the Carcavelos beach next to the Carcavelos Fair, next to Quinta dos Lombos and also to the Carcavelos train station.
