The average daily number of infections with covid-19 in the past week has risen again by 2 percent, to 87.9. This is evident from the data from Sciensano on Sunday.

Belgium now has 62,606 confirmed cases since the start of the crisis, 137 more than the total communicated on Saturday.
The number of infections has been increasing for a few days, and this is also the case for the period from 2 to 8 July, the most recent series for which figures are available. The average was 87.9 new infections per day.
In the past two weeks, there have been an average of 10.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The increase is mainly evident in the province of Antwerp and in Brussels, says Sciensano. In seven days there were 85 cases in the city of Antwerp, 20 in Ghent and 14 in Brussels.
For several weeks, Sciensano has no longer published any data on the number of hospital admissions and deaths on Sunday and Monday.
