According to the league, there have been no positive results for the first time in the latest round of corona virus tests in the English Premier League. On Thursday and Friday, 1,130 players and employees of the 20 clubs were examined, it said on Saturday.
It was the fourth round of tests for the novel virus. The first three rounds had resulted in twelve infected people. Also on Saturday, the British Minister of Sport and Culture, Oliver Dowden, announced that the Premier League could soon continue its season under strict conditions.
“Football is coming back,” he said at a press conference in Downing Street, London. Spectators are not admitted. Premier League boss Richard Masters said the game is expected to start on June 17. Until then, there is still a lot of work to be done to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
