American football does not come to rest: while the league officials are planning the start of the season in Corona times for September, clubs and players are going from one to the next. The most recent example: DeSean Jackson (33), wide receiver of the Philadelphia Eagles.
–
The NFL star, who only returned to his home club last year, is causing quite a stir on social networks. Jackson published a quote on Instagram, which he – wrongly – attributed to Adolf Hitler. The athlete posted that Jews would “blackmail America” and have a “plan for world domination.” The blacks as “true children of Israel” would see through this.
–
But that’s not all. A short time later, DeSean Jackson shared two contributions that praised the controversial leader of the “Nation of Islam”, Louis Farrakhan (87). Farrakhan’s organization pursues the radical vision of Muslim dominance of the black population in the United States. It is classified as anti-Semitic by the large anti-discrimination associations, which also support the NFL.

Eagles condemn posts, Jackson apologizes
After the posts were published, a shitstorm hit Jackson. Particularly explosive: team owners as well as the general director of his Philadelphia Eagles, Jeffrey Lurie (68) and Howie Roseman (45), are devout Jews.
–
And the NFL team promptly published a statement. People have spoken to DeSean Jackson about his posts on social media. “Whatever he intended, his shared messages were insulting, hurtful, and absolutely terrible. We are disappointed and have instructed DeSean not only to use its platform as an excuse, but also to stand for unity, equality and respect. »
–
Jackson has actually apologized in the meantime. In a video, he says that he didn’t really understand the meaning behind the shared statement. “My mail was in no way directed against any population group, especially not against the Jewish community. I’m sorry and I just want it to be understood that I didn’t want to drag anyone into the dirt with it, »he says.

Jackson threatens suspension
It remains to be seen whether the athlete’s words are sufficient. The Philadelphia Eagles have already announced that “appropriate measures” will be taken. NFL experts consider a suspension possible. And the league could also intervene in the case with an investigation. So far, the much criticized NFL chief Roger Goodell (61) is silent.
