The last pay phone in New York City was removed this week. There are wifi kiosks instead. So the end of an era.
Monday morning, the last remaining public telephone from Times Square disappeared.

Around the removal of the pay phone a real ceremony was organised. Mark Levine, the president of the Manhattan Borough that includes Times Square, and city councilor Julie Won were at the booth’s farewell.
