New collection points for Keolis electric bikes, around Montluçon (Allier)

Fans of electric bikes in the Montluçon agglomeration no longer have to go to the Espace Maëlis to collect their rentals. The network has six additional collection points between March and April. Each of these terminals, located at the town halls of Quinssaines, Prémilhat, Désertines, Domérat, Saint-Victor and Lignerolles, currently has five bicycles, or 25 bicycles in all, out of the 100 two-wheelers that the network currently has.

Those interested can book their rentals on the site resa.cvelo.maelis.eu and choose the pick-up point of their choice. “The site updates automatically, depending on the number of reservations made at each point,” explains Marie Bivert, marketing manager for Keolis Montluçon Mobilité.

Rentals can be for the day or for the weekend. The novelty is the possibility of renting by the week: “Long rentals can be addressed to people outside the agglo. Of course, residents of the agglomeration remain a priority. »

For weekend rentals, from Friday afternoon to Monday morning maximum, a new rate comes into force: 15 euros for non-subscribers, 10 euros for those who have a subscription.

The Mobility Challenge will last one week

Montluçonnais will be able to test life on two wheels for free, thanks to the “Mobility Challenge”. With the Auvergne-Rhônes-Alpes region, the Maëlis public transport network is setting up a week of electric bike trials.

“If the mobility challenge normally lasts only one day, on June 2, we are extending the offer for a week to show that it is possible to change your lifestyle,” explains Marie Bivert, marketing manager for Keolis Montluçon Mobilité.

Registrants will receive a booklet of 10 bus trips and an electric bike rental. An experience which, Marie Bivert hopes, could encourage some to live a life without a car.
