Montbard. College students educated about blood donation

On Tuesday, the team of voluntary blood donors intervened at the Pasteur de Montbard college to discuss the methods of blood donation and present this civic act. The objective was to make middle school students in grades 3 understande the importance of being a donor once you come of age, to explain the conditions for giving and the goals.

Patrick Virely, volunteer trainer, detailed the composition of blood and the different elements that are extracted from it, what are these bags collected for hospitals used for, the number of bags needed daily at the national level…

“College students represent a young public who will soon reach the age of 18, so it is a complement of donors who will arrive”, reports César Roman, from the training team. “My parents donate their blood, I will do the same later to help people,” explains Prune, 15. An approach that the young Alicia did not know yet. She also wants to give later.

Next collection on July 7 in Montbard, Paul-Éluard room.
