An American in his 30s died in Texas of coronavirus after getting it in a “covid party“, organized by an infected person, according to the medical director of the hospital where the young man died.
“The idea (of the night) is to get together and see if the virus it’s real and if someone gets it, “said Jane Appleby, medical director at San Antonio Methodist Hospital.
A man in his thirties who was at the party was contaminated. The young man’s health began to deteriorate, until his hospitalization and his death at the Methodist Hospital this week.
Before dying, the patient told the attending nurse, “I think I made a mistake. I thought this virus was a scam, but no,” Appleby said.
“None of us is invincible,” he warned, noting that several patients in their 20s or 30s were hospitalized at the medical center for complications related to the new coronavirus.
