Lydec resumes its home invoice distribution activities

In agreement with the authorities, Lydec has taken over the home distribution activities of water and electricity bills, while ensuring compliance with health regulations. As a reminder, the company had resumed the activity of reading meter indexes from June 1.

These invoices will be accompanied by a letter explaining to each customer the methods of invoicing the consumption of water and electricity during confinement in accordance with national directives and the operation of resumption of invoicing on the basis of the volume of actual consumption d water and electricity resulting from the effective reading of meters since June 1 following the estimates made previously.

“Aware of the difficulty of this context linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, Lydec remains united and grants payment facilities to all its customers. In particular, customers whose regularization bill includes consumption above their usual level should will automatically be offered a spread over a period of 6 months“, said the operator in a press release.

As a reminder, following the entry into force of the state of health emergency linked to the Covid-19 pandemic on March 23, and in application of the decisions of public authorities at the national level, Lydec had suspended its customer activities at home, namely reading water and electricity consumption on meters, distributing invoices and collecting them. During the confinement period, the digital service system was reinforced to continue to ensure remote customer relations via diversified communication channels, notably telephony and the internet.

As it was not possible to read meters during the confinement period, Lydec proceeded to estimate the consumption of its customers by referring to their consumption history for the same period of the last two years (2018 and 2019), in accordance with national guidelines. Thus, during this period, estimated consumption invoices were made available to customers, by SMS or e-mail, through the online agency (website) or the Lydec 7/24 mobile application.
