Leicester loses third place to Chelsea due to draw at Arsenal | NOW

Leicester City has lost third place in the Premier League to Chelsea. The ‘Foxes’ played 1-1 with Arsenal on Tuesday evening, while the ‘Blues’ won 2-3 at Crystal Palace.

Leicester started the duel with Arsenal strongly at King Power Stadium, but was trapped after twenty minutes by a hit by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese was the end of a beautiful attack and shot a cross from Bukayo Saka.

Ten minutes before half-time, Kelechi Iheanacho scored in the pouring rain on behalf of Leicester, but his goal was disallowed for a foul. In the second half there was also a streak through an Arsenal goal, with Alexandre Lacazette just offside.

The ‘Gunners’ had to advance ten minutes fifteen minutes before time by a red card for Edward Nketiah. The attacker who just came in came in rashly on James Justin and was sent off after the intervention of the VAR. In the final stages, Leicester took advantage of the overtime situation with a hit by Jamie Vardy, who put his foot against a Demarai Gray shot.

The draw drops Leicester to fourth place. Coach Brendan Rodgers’ team is now one point behind Chelsea. The top four teams in the Premier League will play in the Champions League next season. Arsenal occupies seventh place.

Chelsea escapes loss of points at Crystal Palace

Chelsea opened the score in the sixth minute via a hit by Olivier Giroud. The French striker had a close pass from Willian, shortly after Gary Cahill was injured. Twenty minutes later, Christian Pulisic doubled the margin with a hard shot into the close corner.

Crystal Palace, where Patrick van Aanholt had a starting place, did not get upset and came back into the game ten minutes before half-time through a brilliant goal from Wilfried Zaha. The Ivorian shot the ball from about 25 meters into the top right corner.

Twenty minutes before the end, Tammy Abraham again extended the margin for the visitors with a shot into the far corner, but a minute later Crystal Palace brought back the tension again via a ticker from Christian Benteke on a pass from Van Aanholt. In injury time, the home team with a header by Scott Dann on the post was still close to the equalizer.

Tim Krul must fear relegation from the Premier League with Norwich City. The bottom line lost 2-1 at number seventeen Watford, which is now ten points ahead of Norwich. There are four more games scheduled for The Canaries.
