Last minute … Free masks will be distributed in pharmacies in Istanbul

The statement made by the Istanbul Chamber of Pharmacists is as follows:

“Dear Colleagues;

We, pharmacists, have been making a great effort for days by offering uninterrupted drug service and health counseling at the forefront of combating pandemics. As an indispensable link of healthcare, we, as the primary healthcare provider, undertook an important task in this process in order to protect public health.

As a result of the negotiations between the Ministry of Health and the Association of Turkish Pharmacists, it was decided to distribute free mask to the citizens in the fastest and safest way through our pharmacies.

The process will work as follows:

– Masks to be provided by the Ministry of Health will be delivered to Istanbul Ecza Koop, Selçuk Ecza and Allianz Healthcare warehouses and distributed to our pharmacies.

– Our pharmacies should request 500 masks (10 boxes) from only one warehouse. It is important to make a request through a single warehouse as the demands will be followed by the Ministry.

– Our citizens between the ages of 20-65 will be given “5 masks per person for 10 days”.

– Our citizens can get a mask by informing our pharmacies the code in the message sent by the Ministry of Health to their mobile phones. Our pharmacists will enter this code in a new button to be opened by TITCK in ITS or Recipe System. After determining which system will be used by TITCK, it will be shared with you separately.

– The application will start after the masks reach the pharmacies.

Nowadays when it is necessary to wear a mask in order to reduce the risk of contamination, it is an extremely important health service to provide our people, which are produced without supervision, and who are sentenced to unhealthy masks, with our 5236 pharmacies, and to ensure the success of the fight against epidemic and to protect public health. We have no doubt that all of our colleagues will fulfill the requirement of our professional oath with this awareness and sensitivity.
