Kehl: Call series “wrong police officer” does not stop – fraudsters are currently persistent in the Kehl area

Fake police officers in the Kehl area are currently persistent.

Since Friday a week ago (May 22), the fraudsters have been telling their chosen interlocutors on the other end of the phone line in a multitude of calls that there were burglaries in the neighborhood and that the assets and valuables of the called parties were now at risk. However, all addressees of the criminal machinations reacted exemplary and recognized that there was no spark of truth in this fraud.

As a result of the current series of calls, the police are not aware of any case in which financial loss has occurred. Nevertheless, the police ask the following instructions to heed:
– Don’t let yourself be put under pressure
– Hang up the handset if something seems strange to you
– Never talk about your personal and financial circumstances on the phone
– Never give money or valuables to unknown people
– Talk to your family or other confidante about the call
– If you are unsure: call the police on 110 (without area code) or your local police station. Do not use the callback function.
