“Again, we see as a item on the agenda of the meeting of the Council of Ministers tomorrow a draft decision to adopt the national plan for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria.
We have already agreed at the expert coalition councils that we must first see an analysis of the effects of the introduction of the single European currency, to indicate the expected changes, benefits, costs, risks. It is rushing again, a draft decision is being introduced again, without being informed as coalition partners. “
This was said to BNR by Lubomir Karimanski from ITN, chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance.
And pointed that out the analysis should include economic and financial policies, regulatory framework, supervision, nominal convergence.
He pointed out that in order to be able to discuss the technical and operational parameters of this national plan, the remaining steps need to be taken:
“We talked several times. I edited part of the structure we were originally presented for such an analysis. I gave it to my fellow coalition partners. They agreed with some of our arguments. And this plan remains to be drawn up.
What we do must be in logical sequence. This thing is not observed as a coalition agreement, which states that these steps will be taken after a public discussion. “
