Instead of drinking champagne in a room full of men in suits, the actor very committed to environmental causes went directly to visit a slaughterhouse for pigs. A few hours before, he won the prize for the best male actor for his role in Joker.
As reported today TMZ.com, supporting photos, Joaquin Phoenix went to the Farmer John farm, which is responsible for packing meat, located 5 km from Los Angeles. There, he joined a dozen protesters who come there twice a week, every Wednesday and every Sunday, for more than three years.
The demonstrators stop the trucks filled with pigs arriving on the site, in order to give water to the animals.
