Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said there would be a streamlining of state institutions and commissions in the near future. At least 18 state institutions and commissions will be streamlined.
Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko revealed the intention of simplifying the bureaucracy is that the government considers the organizational structure made to be effective.
“Namely having high flexibility, the second, must be highly adaptive to environmental changes. And the third is simple so that if you have the character it is hoped that later it will have speed,” he said.
According to Moeldoko, what will become a concern of the Ministry of PAN & RB is an institution in the form of a Commission which is established under PP or Perpres.
“The ones under the Law have not been touched. But the institutions under the Perpres and PP are currently being reviewed. The organization’s needs or what was said yesterday 18 institutions were removed or evaluated again so that we are really heading for an efficiency,” he explained.

Moeldoko said that the organization that should have been under the Ministry.
“Like the Elderly Commission. It has never been heard whether it is not within the duties of the Ministry of Child Protection. If it is still within the scope of the Ministry, it might be able to think about,” he said.
The purpose of Moeldoko is the National Commission on Elderly. Where the establishment of these institutions in accordance with Presidential Decree Number 52 of 2004 concerning the National Commission on Elderly.
Moeldoko also said, about the Sports Accreditation Board and the Peat Restoration Agency [BRG].
“Then BRG, for the time being, has a pretty good role in handling peat restoration. But it will also be seen later. BRG is in terms of fire, is it enough to be handled by BNPB?”
“In terms of peat optimization for agriculture, is it enough by the Ministry of Agriculture. That is approximately what the Ministry of RB is currently studying,” said Moeldoko.
