“In total, on the Polish-Ukrainian segment of the common border, Polish border guards denied entry to 11 thousand 704 foreigners, which is 33% less than in the first half of 2020,” the border guards said.

At the same time, border guards detained 2,466 Ukrainian citizens for illegal border crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the Polish border in the first half of the year, which is three times more than in the first half of last year (813 people).

During the same period, Polish border guards discovered 1968 Ukrainian citizens who were trying to cross the border with Poland with fake documents.

“This is almost eight times more than in 2020. Then 266 cases were recorded, ”the border guards said.

As a reminder, the Polish Foreign Ministry announced that in the first half of 2021, Ukrainians were issued almost 35% more visas for employment than in the same period last year.
