Israel’s Assassination of Palestinian Journalist A Disaster That Shakes the World

MOSCOW – The murder of Palestinian Al Jazeera journalist, Shireen Abu Akleh, is a world-shaking disaster.

He said few people heard the news of his death “without being deeply affected.”

“The Palestinian journalist was killed while carrying out his journalistic duties, while he was reporting about the invasion of Israeli troops into the Jenin refugee camp,” Zakharova said.

He added that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov offered his condolences to the Palestinian Minister of Civil Affairs and Fatah Central Committee member Hussein Al-Sheikh after receiving him in Moscow.

Zakharova added that Lavrov emphasized Russia’s support for the demands of the Palestinian leadership in a comprehensive and objective investigation into the killing of Abu Akleh.

Commenting on the Israeli occupation forces’ attack on the journalist’s funeral procession, the Russian spokesman emphasized, “I want to tell you that I have never seen anything like this in my life. And I want to emphasize that the absence of Palestinian-Israeli settlements and obstacles to the negotiation process turned into clashes.” which is more intense each time where innocent civilians, including women and children, are victimized.”
