Tomás Echegaray was 26 years old. Néstor Félix Hirtz is 66. Early Sunday morning, around two in the morning, Tomás and a friend of his went to the Hirtz family home in their vehicle. They were going to meet another friend, Nestor’s son. The previous night, father and son had dined together at the home located on Luis Bruné de Tapalqué street, a town in the province of Buenos Aires. What happened when they got out of the car is still a matter of investigation. Beyond the hypotheses that try to elucidate the mechanics of the fact: Hirtz shot Echegaray and killed him.

The bullet entered at the level of his abdomen and exited from the back after going through the liver and spinal column, as verified by the autopsy. The projectile then hit the vehicle in which they arrived. After the shock, the son of the person who carried out the shot transferred his friend in a van to the municipality hospital, where they received him and immediately ordered him to be referred to the Pintos de Azul Hospital to treat him for the severity of his injuries. But Tomás did not arrive alive: he died in the ambulance, on the way to the city of Azul.

According to local media, the police became aware of the fact when the young man was getting out of the vehicle at the entrance to the Tapalqué hospital. A mobile that was passing by spotted gestural signals from the health center and they came to find out what was happening. There they were able to learn what happened as a result of the story of Hirtz’s son when his friend entered the Emergency Room, before being transferred to Azul.

Some time later, the author of the shot also appeared at the hospital. In the framework of the first actions, the police proceeded to apprehend them according to the first testimonies. As reported by police sources, Néstor Hirtz confessed the murder to the officers with an absurd construction of what happened: “I sent the shit. I wanted to fuck him and I shot him ”.

At the house where the crime occurred, scientific police personnel seized a .44 Magnum revolver, from where the shot that killed the 26-year-old died, and in the family’s car they found another 38-caliber firearm. According to information published in local media, the man has permits to carry these weapons and is the owner of a rural establishment.

Hirtz was charged in a case labeled as “Simple homicide aggravated by the use of a firearm with possible intent”, Whose file is in the Functional Instruction Unit No. 1, in charge of the prosecutor Marcelo Fernández in the Courts of Azul. For the moment, he continues to be deprived of his liberty at the headquarters of the Tapalqué Community Police. Yesterday he was investigated by the prosecutor but preferred not to testify because he is not yet in a stable emotional state.

The investigation is now focused on reconstructing the murder sequence. The main suspicion is that the man actually missed the shot. What they are trying to find out is the position of the author of the shot and the situation that caused it. In regional media, they explained that one of the hypotheses being evaluated is that the man wanted to spray it with a spray that had alcohol inside it and when he got confused about his hand, he triggered.
