‘He’s our Mohamed Salah, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar’ – Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel on N’Golo Kante

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has given fans a candid update on midfielder N’Golo Kante’s future, with many reports pointing to a summer move from Stamford Bridge. When asked about the future of his midfield ace following his team’s 1-1 draw with Leicester, the Germany coach replied:

“I think he is our key player.” he said, according to Football London. “But the most important key players have to be on the pitch and he only plays 40% of the games.” Van Dijkis our Mo Salah, Kylian Mbappe, he is our Neymar.

Thomas Tuchel continued to compliment Kante after being questioned for being one of the greatest players on his team.

“I can only repeat myself. He can make the difference, but he can only make the difference on the pitch and at the highest level, that’s our goal for him. He’s one of the best midfielders in the world. Because he’s not in the spotlight, he’s all the more important to the team. He has the mentality of a water carrier and that makes all the difference. Big teams need that. That’s why everyone loves to play with him.” he added.

The French midfielder’s contract expires in the summer of 2023 so he will play his final in west London next season. The 31-year-old has won all sorts of major trophies during his tenure at Stamford Bridge save for the Carabao Cup, which he has yet to win.

Kante returned to London in 2016 Leicester City and has made 218 appearances for the Blues, scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists. Chelsea certainly won’t want the 30-year-old to leave the club as he has been the best player for the Blues since joining.
