Final Liga Champions 2021/2022 bring together Liverpool vs Real Madrid at the Stade de France. Kick-off takes place on Sunday (29/5/2022) at 2.00 WIB.
Both Real Madrid and Liverpool have the same European DNA. Los Blancos are the ‘king’ of the Champions League with 13 titles, while the Reds are the most successful English club on the Blue Continent with 6 Big Ear trophies.
Not only a myriad of flashy achievements, Real Madrid and Liverpool also have rabid fans around the world. The fans were united in singing the club anthem that blared every time their favorite team played.
Real Madrid has an anthem entitled “Hala Madrid y nada mas”, while Liverpool synonymous with “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. Here is the story behind the two songs.
Hala Madrid and nothing more
“Hala Madrid y nada mas” is a Real Madrid anthem written by Nadir Khayat (RedOne) and Manuel Jabois. This song was first coined by the club president, Florentino Perez, and was released in 2014 to celebrate El Real winning their 10th Champions League title (La Decima).
The title of this anthem refers to the jargon ‘Hala Madrid!’ what Madrid fans say. These words mean ‘Come on Madrid’ and were the title of the Madrid national anthem which was coined by the former club president, Santiago Bernabeu, in 1952.
The music “Hala Madrid y nada mas” sounds very majestic and is suitable to be sung to encourage the team in every match. The lyrics describe the glorious history of Los Merengues and the Madridista’s absolute love for the club.
In 2014, the Real Madrid squad and coach Carlo Ancelotti recorded the song “Hala Madrid y nada mas”. The song also topped the Spanish charts in the same year.
