While travel warning level 5 was given for the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on Wednesday, the government was able to present further easing for Austria after the Council of Ministers. The Austrians would still have to be careful, said Chancellor Sebastian Kurz with reference to the Corona outbreak at the Tönnies slaughterhouse. More than 1,300 employees are now infected there, and the Gütersloh district is regionally cordoned off. Air travel to North Rhine-Westphalia will be discontinued for the time being due to travel warning level 5.
“Don’t throw your mask away, we’ll still need it,” said Kurz. Especially in late autumn there could be a “difficult situation”, said Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens). And Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens) asked to “handle the easing steps carefully.” The motto “enjoy and take care” should be heeded.
But back to Austria.
The following easing will come into force in the coming weeks:
- From The mask requirement for waiters falls on July 1st, the salt shaker returns to the tables.
- The Curfew for closed events with 100 people is from the beginning of July canceled, with which you can celebrate again without restrictions at weddings.
- From July 1st there will also be none Minimum distance rule when exercising more – every indoor and outdoor sport is allowed again. However, attendance lists must be kept to enable contact tracing.
- From September will be under certain conditions Outdoor events with up to 10,000 and indoors with up to 5,000 participants allowed – this affects the sports sector as well as the culture.
