Fire in a pavilion in Ingré: very intoxicated by the fumes, the children were transported to the Necker hospital

The two children rescued in the fire of a pavilion in Ingré, on the night of this Sunday May 15 to Monday May 16, were transported to the Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital, in Paris. The boy, aged 13, and the girl, aged 11, were taken care of by the emergency services in “absolute emergency”, seriously intoxicated by the fumes.

Their 40-year-old mother died. She was already unconscious, in cardio-respiratory arrest, when the firefighters arrived on the scene, around 00:45.

Probably of accidental origin

The 42-year-old father-in-law, also intoxicated by the fumes, was transported to the Orleans hospital center, at La Source. It was he who would have given the alert and rescued in the first instance the children, who slept on the floor of this pavilion located on rue du Grand-Puits.

According to initial findings, the outbreak of fire would be of accidental origin, due to the connection of an electrical device. A police investigation is continuing in order to carry out further surveys.
