Additional groups of entrepreneurs in the non-food sector, such as retailers, will also be able to use the Entrepreneurship Affected Sectors COVID-19 (TOGS) scheme from Monday 30 March 2020. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate (EZK) today announced the extension of the scheme, which was previously known as the Emergency Desk. The TOGS is specifically intended for companies that are directly affected by government measures in the fight against the corona virus.

Minister Eric Wiebes and State Secretary Mona Keijzer (EZK) have decided to do this on the basis of the requests for TOGS made since Friday and the recent acute, negative developments in store sales. “These are exceptional times that have major consequences for entrepreneurs. That is why, when the Emergency package for jobs and the economy was announced, the government immediately said that this package will never stand still. Entrepreneurs in the non-food sector may remain open, but they will see their income strongly fall due to the need for social distancing. Because they are hit hard, we will expand the scheme “, said the ministers of EZK

One-time donation of 4,000 euros to pay the first fixed costs

Under the TOGS scheme, entrepreneurs can receive a one-off net allowance of 4,000 euros to pay their fixed costs, such as the rent of a commercial property. The government has taken other measures for ongoing costs for personnel, which are also part of the Emergency package for jobs and the economy. Rvo.nl/tegemoetkomingcorona lists which entrepreneurs can make use of the TOGS scheme. The list of branches and sectors will be updated on Monday March 30.

Customization with criteria SBI codes

Entrepreneurs who are entitled to the TOGS scheme, but who see that they are registered under another so-called SBI code in the Trade Register, can report this to the implementing organization RVO.nl.

Wiebes and Keijzer let us know: “If entrepreneurs are in danger of falling between two stools, we will look at that on a case-by-case basis. That flexibility is there. Again: these are exceptional and rough times, so we do what is necessary.” .
