On November 24, Soviet and Russian opera singer Leonid Orestovich Zimnenko died. People’s Artist of Russia was 78 years old.

The sad news was reported in Facebook artistic director of the Moscow theater “Helikon-opera” Dmitry Bertman.

“Leonid Orestovich has always been a welcome spectator. And a master who could easily and with humor give advice to young artists, he writes. – Leonid Orestovich was loved by absolutely everyone! I remember how one day he brought his student Dmitry Ovchinnikov to me to listen and said to me: “Take him to the theater, he is a neurologist, but he came to study singing, and I see him as a huge talent.” For many years Dima has been our leading soloist, and a soloist of many theaters in Europe. Leonid Orestovich saw and appreciated talent, because he himself was very talented. And as a person with a gift, he looked at the world with a smile and always spoke about serious things only with a sense of humor. “

We add that Zimnenko was a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Musical Theater and the Bolshoi Theater, as well as a professor at the Moscow State Institute of Culture. The world of music mourns for an outstanding artist.
