After 6 p.m., patients transferred from the Sucre clinic began to enter the San Roque Hospital, which was quarantined due to an outbreak of coronavirus. In total, this Friday eight of the 34 patients who were relocated will enter.
The transfer operation was ordered by the Province’s Emergency Operations Center (COE). All these cases were swabbed and negative, although the COE resolved the relocation of patients, the provisional closure and the quarantine of this establishment due to a coronavirus outbreak, that until this Friday has 11 positive cases, almost all of doctors who worked in the floor guard to comply with the assistance of the internees.
Joaquín Lábaque, member of the clinic’s board, confirmed to The voice that the transfer of the first patient had begun and that in the course of this afternoon the relocation of seven other people to the San Roque Hospital will be completed.
The rest of the internees (26 cases) will also be transferred in a health operation with similar characteristics to institutions that will be defined by the Province in the next few hours.
“At this moment, the transfer of the first hospitalized patient is beginning. Until now, 34 patients will be transferred, while those who are in medical discharge conditions will remain in quarantine, although at home. Provided they meet the necessary conditions “Lábaque said.
He also indicated that until this Friday the number of confirmed positive cases is 11, and that all the patients who were swabbed were negative. “Until now all the rest have been negative, among which are the patients,” he stressed.
Case zero
After a resident on-call doctor tested positive, the protocol was activated and the swab was indicated to all the clinic staff, who number more than 300 people, in addition to providers and all those patients who came to be seen since Friday spent until this week at this health center.
Given this situation, in which case zero is still being studied (how the initial infection was not yet reported), a special operation was set up.
As of this Thursday, the Sucre clinic is closed to the public, with no care for patients on duty or on call, and all staff are in quarantine at the direction of the COE.
Pami patients
In this health center, patients from the Pami social work are mainly cared for, so the withdrawal of all internees and people at risk group was activated, in addition to the request that those retirees who must be attended for different pathologies can do it in these two weeks in the Romagosa clinic or in the Italian Hospital.
