KOMPAS.com – Manchester United won the 13th penalty of the season in the victory against Aston Villa on Friday (07/09/2020) early morning hrs.
The penalty won by Bruno Fernandes after receiving a tackle from Ezri Konsa was approved by the VAR even though the decision was criticized by the former referee Premier League, Dermot Gallagher.
Fernandes advanced himself to take a shot from 12 right and managed to execute his penalty well.
The 13th penalty puts Manchester United on a par with Crystal Palace 2004-2005 and Leicester City 2015-2016 as teams to get 13 penalties in one season.

Manchester United have improved significantly with their fortune in the forbidden box of opponents since coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer come.
View data Transfermarkt, Manchester United have won 25 penalties in the last two seasons, the most of all the teams in Premier League.
The amount is a significant increase after Paul Pogba et al only won three penalties throughout the 2017-2018 season.
In both seasons before that, Manchester United’s numbers were almost the same. They only won four penalties in 2016-2017 and three penalties in 2015-2016.

Clearly, Man United have won significantly more penalties since coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho on December 19, 2018.
During two and a half seasons with Man United, Mourinho’s team won only 12 penalties from 93 matches.
Meanwhile, Ole’s troops have won 20 penalties in only 55 matches over the Red Devils.
Manchester United also received a penalty in Solskjaer’s first match for the Red Devils, a 5-1 win against Cardiff City on 22 December 2018 which was executed by Jesse Lingard.

However, with an accurate shot, Manchester United succeeded in 69.2 percent of their penalties this season (entered 9, failed 4).
That number still loses from the sharpness of Chelsea (7 out of 7), the team that has gotten more than 6 penalties this season.
Actually, there are 10 teams that record 100 percent accuracy from the white point. However, the majority of them only get less than four penalties.
At least, Man United’s accuracy is still better than their neighbor, Manchester City, which only incised 60 percent shot accuracy (6 out of 4).
Last season, Man United’s success ratio was 75 percent (entered 9, failed 3).
Again, this ratio is still less than Liverpool who recorded 100 percent accuracy also from the white point (7 of 7)
