Benzema goes for Cristiano Ronaldo’s mark

The French forward of Real Madrid, Karim Benzemareaches the grand final of the Champions League as the key man in the attack and one of the players who has scored the most goals in this entire edition so far.

Karim Benzema is looking to tie or beat Cristiano Ronaldo’s mark for most goals scored in the same Champions League edition.

The Frenchman reaches the final with a total of 15 goals, ten of them achieved in the direct elimination rounds (eighth, quarter and semi-finals), against greats such as Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Only two goals would be missing from Karim Benzema in this final to tie the record for Cristiano Ronaldo 17 entries in the same edition and three to become number one in this department.

In case of scoring a single goal against Liverpool, Karim Benzema would remain in the third position of the all-time scorers in the Champions League.

Karim Benzema now shares that third place with the Pole Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), both with 86.
