In the capital of China, Beijing, the first snow fell. Heavy snowfall began on Sunday night, November 7, the agency reports. Xinhua.
The snowfall continued on Sunday, which coincided with the beginning of the Lidun season (The Beginning of Winter) – one of the 24 seasons of the traditional agricultural calendar, the publications notes.
Snowfall covered Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Shanxi and Hebei provinces, Liaoning and Jilin provinces in northeastern China, Shandong province in eastern China, and Henan in central China.
In some places, up to 300 mm of snow fell.
