Yesterday, as reported by “the Rambler”, a summit of EU and “Eastern partnership”. It was held in a videoconference format. Aliyev spoke during it. During his speech, he called Azerbaijan a reliable supplier of oil to European markets for almost 15 years, and the European Union — the main trade partner of Azerbaijan (about 50% of trade of the Republic).
“In the near future we will begin to supply the EU with natural gas,” — said the President.

He noted that Azerbaijan was the initiator of the construction of the southern gas corridor (SGC), and the country that financed the project. Aliyev called the southern gas corridor project and energy cooperation, energy security and diversification.
SGC — a system of pipelines with a length of 3.5 thousand kilometers from Baku to Italy via Georgia, Turkey, Greece and Albania. At the end of 2020 is planned to start commercial supplies of Azerbaijani gas via the UGC in Europe.
